Jane’s Brain 10 Year Celebration!
My Story
June 2026 marks 10 years since I woke up one morning and suffered from a sudden epileptic seizure and that was the first sign that something was not quite right... in August 2016 the amazing team at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery were thankfully able to remove a benign tumour the size of a satsuma from my brain. For a while, my life was turned upside down but with their continuous monitoring and care I have been able to live life to the full.
In December 2023, an MRI scan revealed that some residual tumour had reoccurred in the main central vein in my brain which was unfortunately inoperable.
Once again, I was so fortunate to receive gamma knife treatment at Queen's Square which so far has stopped the residual tumour from increasing in size.
So here l am, a keen amateur runner, doing something I've always wanted to do, running the 2026 London Marathon. Giving something back to the charity that continues to provide treatment and carry out groundbreaking research into brain related conditions.
Any donation that you are able to give to this amazing charity will be greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
