By 2050, 40% of the world’s children will be African. And right now, nearly 9 in 10 children in Sub Saharan Africa are not learning – unable to read a simple text by age 10.
Every week, AfriKids helps hundreds of communities in northern Ghana to rise up and take action to ensure every child is safe, in school and learning.
We listen to communities and support them to create lasting change themselves. We do this by:
- Ensuring means: Help families earn enough to send their children to school.
- Building motive: Raise awareness about the importance of education and say no to child labour and early marriage.
- Creating opportunity: Improve schools and resources, including STEM and tablet-based learning.
The race is on to protect childhoods. To keep children learning. To help families break the cycle of poverty for good.
Step by step, we can do this together.
Join #TeamAfriKids and run for the rights of every child.
