Marathon for Shooting Stars
Abby Charnock
My Story
Next year, I am running the London Marathon in memory of Chloe and for the brilliant charity, Shooting Stars. I'd be grateful for any donations you can give.
In May, we very suddenly lost my best friend, Chloe. In the midst of the shock and sadness, I wanted to put my energy into something positive & meaningful in her memory.
Choosing the London Marathon felt like the obvious challenge, given Chloe and I have shouted support for our friends and families many times.
Chloe adored children. She spent her gap year & uni summers at Camp Wahnee, and nannied in Surrey & Bristol, and later became completely smitten with her niece.
Chloe was also immensely proud of her mum's work with Shooting Stars, so fundraising for this charity felt completely right. Shooting Stars is a hospice that cares for babies and children with life-limiting conditions, and provides support for their families across Surrey and London.
Whilst I would not describe myself as an effortless runner, running in memory of the wonderful Chloe and for a charity close to her heart, is something I’m looking forward to and any support is greatly appreciated.
