Abbie White | London Marathon 2026 with Chain of Hope
My Story
Hi, I'm Abbie
I've worked as a specialist paediatric intensive care nurse, looking after poorly children and babies born with congenital heart defects for over 8 years. My role was to help heal and support these tiny warriors through surgery and recovery.
Most children born with congenital heart defects would not survive to adulthood without specialist, life-saving care. In the UK, our NHS provides this crucial treatment, and it has been my passion to help nurse these children back to health so they can live full, happy lives.
But many children in less-developed countries aren't so lucky. In February 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to join a selfless and skilled group of volunteer medical professionals from Europe and America in Jamaica, through Chain of Hope. Together, we facilitated specialist operations and post-operative care to 9 children - 9 little hearts, 9 precious lives.
I am running the London Marathon to raise funds for Chain of Hope to support and expand this vital work globally - bringing hope, healing, and life-saving care to children born in less privileged countries around the world.
Thank you for supporting this mission with me.
