My Story
Why I’m Running for the Angles Theatre – Wisbech Theatre Trust
In April 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon to raise funds for the Angles Theatre, an incredible place that means a great deal to me and to the community I call home.
The Angles Theatre is the only theatre in Fenland and one of the oldest working theatres in the country, quietly tucked away in the heart of Wisbech. Entirely run by a team of passionate volunteers, it’s not just a theatre, it’s a lifeline for creativity, learning, and belonging in a town that ranks high on multiple deprivation indices.
In an area where access to the arts can be limited, the Angles Theatre steps up. Through its work with local schools, it brings drama, dance and performance to the youth of the community, inspiring confidence and imagination in young people. It also offers bursary places for children for its classes and families who may be experiencing financial hardship, ensuring no one is left out due to cost.
Whether it’s a young person stepping on stage for the first time, a retired volunteer helping behind the scenes, or a parent watching their child grow in confidence, the impact of this little theatre is profound.
As a former trustee, I’m incredibly proud of what the Angles Theatre stands for and what it continues to achieve, all on a minimal budget, without any paid staff, and all for the benefit of the community.
By sponsoring me, you're helping to support this vital work and keep the arts alive in a place that needs and deserves this organisation.
Thank you for any support you can give.
