My Story
London Marathon 2026 - In memory of Natalie Briston đź’š
Here we are again! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected by Macmillan Cancer Support to represent them at the London Marathon next year. It’s an incredible honor to run my second marathon for such a meaningful cause and to help raise vital funds for their work.
For me, charity work goes beyond the race itself. It’s a chance to give back to an organisation that relies on the generosity of the public and businesses. By raising funds, we enable Macmillan to expand their expertise and provide essential support to those affected by cancer, whether it’s the patients themselves or their families. As one of the most recognised and respected charities today, Macmillan’s impact is incredible.
Life can be unpredictable, and I strive to embrace this in both my personal and professional life. It’s about seizing opportunities, taking risks, and making every moment count.
In January 2021, my mum, Natalie, was diagnosed with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, a rare and aggressive form of cancer originating from the hormones in the pancreas. It’s a complex condition, often difficult to treat because of how quickly it can spread if not caught early. Mum fell seriously ill and began treatment immediately, but at stage four, we knew time was limited. After six months of bravely battling the disease, she sadly passed away at the age of 42. As a single mother of three, her loss was devastating for me and my two brothers. Yet, we’ve pushed forward, carrying her strength with us as we continue our lives. I carry the lessons I've learnt and the teachings Mum gave me into my everyday life, which is what makes me the person I am today, there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of her.
I know the world can feel overwhelming at times, but raising money for charity keeps me grounded and grateful. If you’re able, I humbly ask for a donation, no matter how big or small, to go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping those affected by cancer. Every contribution will make a difference.
