My Story
I’m running the London Marathon to support The Gardens Trust, the UK’s only charity dedicated to protecting and conserving our heritage of designed landscapes.
They don’t just campaign—they research, conserve and inspire communities to explore and care for these incredible places. Through a national network of local trusts, they connect people and expertise across the country, keeping our heritage alive for everyone.
The Trust is under threat: the Government is consulting on removing its role as a statutory consultee in the planning system. Without this, centuries-old gardens could be lost to development, and communities would lose these special spaces forever.
As a Landscape Architect, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work of The Gardens Trust. Through my projects, I’ve consulted their guidance on historic parks and gardens, drawn on their research and collaborated with local County Garden Trusts to ensure sensitive design and conservation decisions. Their expertise has been invaluable in helping balance modern needs with the preservation of landscapes that carry centuries of history, and has inspired me to support their ongoing fight to protect these irreplaceable places.
Please support me on this run. Your donation will help the Gardens Trust continue to safeguard the UK’s historic parks and gardens—spaces that have inspired generations and shaped communities. Together, we can ensure that these special places are not just preserved, but celebrated.
