My Story
Hello Everyone,
Some of you may know me as a friend, colleague or the friendly face that comes TB testing on your farms. Something not so many people know is that I had a wonderful older brother called James. James was a dairy farmer and could turn his hand to anything, from feeding the cows to milking and fixing things along the way. He was so much fun. The things we got up to as kids we can only say now as we would have been in all sorts of trouble back then.
Unfortunatly James was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia in April 2009. Despite the doctors best efforts in Cheltenham hospital's specialist Oncology department James passed away six weeks after diagnosis. James was only eighteen when he died.
James William Thomas 26/08/1990 - 05/05/2009
I will be running the London Marathon on 26th April 2026 in memory of my brother, nine days before the anniversay of his passing. I will also be running it to raise money to support young people with cancer. Cancer is likely to effect 1 in 2. Some of those are children before they even go to school.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am proud to be running the 2026 TCS London Marathon with Young Lives vs Cancer to ensure no child faces cancer alone.
Join me in supporting a good cause. By sponsoring me, your contribution will make a huge difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer. Whether you donate £5 or £500 you will be making a big impact. Thank you for your support.
Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Young Lives vs Cancer helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them. We'll face it all together - but we can't do it without you.
