My Story

Hi! I'm Amy and welcome to my fundraising page! On 26th April 2026, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Cosmic. Here you'll find some information about who Cosmic are, and why they are an important cause to me personally. I am incredibly grateful for any donations towards this important charity and hope to do them proud on the day!

Who are Cosmic?

Cosmic is a charity that support the children's and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London and go above and beyond what the NHS can't afford to help hundreds of babies, children and their families. They purchase vital state of the art equipment, provide training for health professionals, fund a programme of groundbreaking research into life-threatening diseases and support families with one to one support, advice, counselling and accommodation through some of the hardest months of their lives.

What impact does Cosmic have?

Every year the Children's Intensive Care Unit treats around 500-600 desperately sick children from 0-18 years old and is the only unit in the country to specialise in care for children with acute life-threatening conditions such as toxic shock, meningitis, bronchiolitis and pneumonia.

Their Neonatal Service provides specialist care for babies born prematurely and each year 1000 babies are admitted to ther two neonatal units making them one of the largest neonatal services in the UK.

You can learn more about the impact Cosmic has through some of their patient stories HERE

Why is Cosmic important to me?

Although I am fortunate enough to not have required Cosmic's support first hand, I've gained an incredible appreciation of the work they do through a very close friend of mine who is a paediatric doctor who has worked with Cosmic in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at St Mary’s Hospital. I can't begin to describe how dedicated she is to caring for critically unwell children and how much of an inspiration she is to me. I am honoured to have the opportunity to support Cosmic in their mission to provide such essential care for children and families who need it the most, and dedicate this page and journey to Dr ABG and all the amazing work she does in this world.

This will be my first time running the London Marathon and I couldn't be more excited!
