My Story

I'm Running the 2026 London Marathon for Royal Berks Charity 💙

In April 2026, I’ll be lacing up my trainers and taking on 26.2 miles through the streets of London in support of the Royal Berks Charity, a place that has become a vital part of my family’s life. This challenge is far more than a race for me. It is a commitment to honour the strength of two extraordinary people. My wife Emily, who is living with metastatic breast cancer, and my daughter Izzy, who manages life every day with type 1 diabetes.

Our journey with serious illness began years ago when Emily first received her diagnosis. The experience changed everything. It opened my eyes to the courage of patients, the dedication of healthcare professionals, and the importance of compassionate care. It also inspired me to retrain completely and become a nurse so that I could give back to others in the way so many had supported us.

Since then, the Royal Berks team has continued to stand with us through each stage of Emily’s treatment and through Izzy’s ongoing care. Their skill and kindness have carried us through some of our hardest moments. Running this marathon is my way of saying thank you and of helping them continue their remarkable work for families like mine.

All funds raised will be shared between the Berkshire Cancer Centre and the Children’s and Young People Diabetes Team. Both services play a central role in supporting my family and countless others, and I am proud to run in their name.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. It will support improved services, better equipment, and the compassionate care that patients rely on every day.

Thank you for reading our story and for considering a contribution. Your support means more to us than words can express.

Please donate if you can, and help me make every mile matter. 🏃‍♀️💙
Thank you so much.
