My Story

My mom was diagnosed with one of the rarest forms of cancer.

It was inoperable. Underfunded.
For some people, a diagnosis like means the end

But my mom was not a statistic.

Through pioneering treatment and support she was given six more years of life.
We had 6 more years of memories. Of love. Of showing what’s possible when research is given a chance.

She proved that rare doesn’t have to mean hopeless.
It just means overlooked.

People say that when someone passes, they’re with you all the time.
And that’s true because she’s in me.
In every step I take. Every mile I run.

This marathon isn’t just a race.
It’s my mom’s legacy carried forward through me.
It’s about giving others the chance she was given. More time. More hope. More life.

Thank you for helping turn loss into purpose.

I’m raising money in honour of my mum, Kamla Devi Sondhi, who bravely faced Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) a rare cancer (approximately 5 people per million each year in the UK).

This cause is close to my heart because Salivary Gland Cancer UK supported us through her treatment in Germany and her recovery.
