My Story

I'm running the London Marathon for Leeds Community Healthcare Charity – and I need your support!

On Sunday 26 April 2026, I'll be taking on 26.2 miles through the streets of London as part of one of the world’s most iconic races – the TCS London Marathon. It’s a huge physical and mental challenge, but I’m doing it for a cause that means a lot to me.

Anyone that knows me, knows how much running has been a part of my health and wellbeing for the past 30 years. I started running in my 20's when I needed to get fit for a physical job - & I grew to love it! Over the years and in between growing my family, running has been my thing and my go-to for getting outdoors  - in all weathers! I have roped friends & family into running, loving nothing more than run chats through the local woods to put the world to rights.  Like many others, running London is a bucket list race and I have applied countless times through the ballot, unsuccessfully, hence why I jumped at the chance this year to run for our Charity at LCH to try and raise much needed funds for the amazing projects across Leeds, the City where I have worked the majority of the past 20 years.

I’m proud to be raising money for Leeds Community Healthcare Charity, which supports the amazing work of NHS staff who deliver vital care to people across Leeds – often in their own homes or close to where they live. The charity funds projects that go above and beyond what the NHS can usually provide, like specialist equipment, better patient environments, and enhanced training for frontline teams.

The goal? To help people stay well at home, and cared for in the community, with the dignity, comfort, and compassion they deserve.

Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference – not just to me as I push through every mile, but to the staff and patients who benefit from this incredible charity’s work.

Thank you so much for your support! 💙💛🤍
