My Story

Why I’m Running the London Marathon
This year, I’ve set myself one of the biggest challenges of my life — running the London Marathon. For me, it’s not just about the miles, the training, or even crossing the finish line. It’s about proving to myself that with enough determination, anything is possible. It’s about stepping outside my comfort zone, pushing through the tough days, and showing that small steps, taken consistently, can achieve something incredible.

Why I’m Fundraising for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity
I’ve worked at Portsmouth Hospitals for the past 10 years, and in that time, I’ve seen first-hand the incredible impact Portsmouth Hospitals Charity has on patients, their families, and the staff who care for them. Every single day, I see the difference the charity makes — from funding specialist equipment and improving hospital environments, to supporting research and wellbeing projects that go beyond what the NHS can usually provide.

I’m running not just for myself, but to help ensure the charity can continue this vital work. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Portsmouth Hospitals Charity keep providing those extras that make a huge difference during some of the toughest moments in people’s lives.

Running 26.2 miles will be tough — but knowing I’m doing it for the hospital, my colleagues, and the community I’ve been proud to serve for a decade will keep me going every step of the way.
