My Story

I’m running 26.2 miles so that more people can experience a peaceful, dignified end — just like my mum did.

Every five minutes, someone dies without the end of life care they need.

Marie Curie is working to change that.

And this is deeply personal for me.

It’s been over three years since my mother passed away in October 2022.

And yet… it still feels like yesterday.

That time was one of the hardest in my life.

But in the middle of the grief, something truly special happened.

We were supported.

Not just by family — but by extraordinary palliative care nurses who came to see my mum every single day.

Their presence changed everything.

They didn’t just provide care.
They brought calm into chaos.
They brought compassion when we needed it most.

Because of them, my mum’s final days were comfortable, dignified, and pain-free.

I will never forget that.

💛 Why This Matters

Not everyone gets this level of care.

That’s the reality.

And it shouldn’t be.

Everyone deserves to feel supported, cared for, and at peace at the end of their life.

That’s exactly what Marie Curie makes possible — for thousands of families every year.

🔥 Why I’m Running

That’s why I’m taking on the London Marathon.

26.2 miles.

A real physical and mental challenge.

But every mile I run is nothing compared to what families are going through right now.

This is for my mum.

And for every family who needs that same care.
