Barbara is fundraising for King George & Queen's Hospitals Charity!

My Story
Hello, my name is Barbara and I have the privilege of being the Interim Chief Executive of King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity in North East London.
I've had the joy of cheering on supporters who have achieved amazing feats for charity. This time last year, I hadn't even ran 5k and definitely would have laughed at the idea of running for anything (including the bus!). Give me a cheer station over breaking a sweat anyday. Now here I am, taking on this mammoth challenge because every day I witness the incredible difference our charity makes to patients, their families, and our staff.
We’ve funded refurbishments of children’s wards so our young patients can play, laugh, and be distracted from the hospital environment.
Created calm spaces for families receiving difficult news and provided life-saving equipment. We continue to support NHS staff with resources that help them deliver the very best care, over and above what the NHS provides.
Every project we fund, big or small, transforms hospital experiences at a time when people need it most.
I often think about patients facing long stays away from home, and the nurses and doctors who go above and beyond every day. They are my motivation.
I’d be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation, every share, and every message of encouragement will not only help me cross the finish line, but more importantly, will help our charity continue to improve the lives of patients and their families.
