My Story

In January 2023, my grandpa (David Oxley) passed away from vascular dementia. He was the former Secretary, Chief Executive and President of the Rugby Football League, and would often ask me what sports I was playing in PE, when I was usually more involved with theatre and music. Over the past few years I have taken up running and I will be running as a tribute to my grandpa and his love for sport.

Dementia UK does incredible work growing the number of Admiral Nurses across the country giving families affected by dementia support through their helpline, clinics, and community work.

I am going to do everything I can to get round that course come April. Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. I want to raise as much money as possible so Dementia UK can continue supporting families everyday.
