Big Man’s London Marathon

My Story

In what has to be the biggest mismatch of human body to event, I will be running the London Marathon for Velindre Fundraising in April.

There are so many reasons why running the London Marathon is a crazy choice of fundraising  challenge; I'm 49, I'm built like a garden shed and I hate running.

BUT, the one thing that compels me to take on this challenge is the amazing work done by Velindre Hospital and the need for more fundraising to provide care, comfort, groundbreaking medical initiatives and world leading research.  Too many families are affected by cancer but we are so close to finding cures and even more effective treatment to help fight this devil disease.

Having lost loved ones to cancer and watching family members come through and lead full lives, cancer is something that unfortunately affects all of our lives directly or indirectly.

I've been an ambassador for Velindre for 13 years and it's an absolute privilege to be chosen to do the London Marathon on their behalf.

So, if I could ask you donate anything you may be able to afford to this wonderful cause.  All monies raised go directly to helping families going through cancer.  In return, I will keep up the hideous training  routine and to quote someone I respect very highly 'carry this lot of weight around London'!

Thank you for any donations made - it really is appreciated!!!
