My Story
In April 2026, I am participating in the iconic London Marathon to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness.
On the 8th May this year we tragically lost my dad to suicide
As many will know my dad was an incredible man. A man that did so much but asked for very little in return. He had his battles with mental health which with great strength and support he managed to overcome. This time sadly it was not the case.
Dad was always someone who loved to keep fit and up until having his hip replaced would very often be seen running around the streets of Warminster. Sticking his hand up to anyone who beeped but never looking to see who it was. I can't think of a more fitting tribute to my dad than running the iconic London Marathon in his honour.
I am running the marathon for Rethink Mental Illness. Within 24 hours of my dad passing Rethink reached out to offer breavement counselling to those left behind after suicide. A service I accepted and am currently using. This is just a small part of what Rethink are doing for mental health. A problem that is only getting worse. Which is why charities like Rethink need every penny they can get to do all they can to help.
Sadly my dad lost his battle with mental health but hopefully by doing this and raising money others won't lose theirs!
Any donations will be so gratefully received and every penny will help towards my target of £2200 for Rethink
Together, we can make a difference.
