My Story
Hi, I’m Brit 👋🏼
I’m 28 years old and about to tick off a lifelong goal: running the London Marathon before I turn 30 (and yes, I’ll be 29 just 9 days after the big day!).
Now, let’s be honest I’ve never been a natural runner. In fact, I spent most of my sporting years firmly planted in goal because I hated running (seriously, ask anyone 😂). So this isn’t just a marathon it’s a massive personal challenge. Physically, mentally, emotionally… all of it.
Why am I doing this? Because I believe in pushing boundaries, showing up for causes that matter, and proving to myself that I can do hard things. This journey is about resilience, growth, and a whole lot of sweat.
If you’re able to support me whether with a donation, a cheer, or just a kind word I’d be incredibly grateful. Let’s make every mile count 💪🏼
Why I’m Running the London Marathon 🏃♀️
Running the London Marathon has been a bucket list goal for years and with my 30th birthday just around the corner, I’m finally going for it.
But this isn’t just about crossing a finish line. It’s about rewriting a chapter that started in 2017, when I broke my ankle and spent six weeks in a wheelchair, followed by six more relearning how to walk. That experience changed everything. It taught me patience, grit, and how to rebuild from the ground up literally.
I’ve never been a runner. So this marathon is a challenge in every sense: physical, mental, emotional. It’s about pushing past limits I once thought were permanent and proving to myself that I can do hard things.
I’m running to celebrate resilience, growth, and the power of showing up for yourself. And if my journey inspires even one person to chase their own wild goal, then every mile will be worth it.
Why I chose to support The Outward Bound Trust:
I’m proud to be running the London Marathon in support of The Outward Bound Trust a charity whose mission and values deeply resonate with me.
I care deeply about creating opportunities that empower people to grow, connect, and thrive. In May this year, I had the chance to experience an Outward Bound programme first-hand, and it was genuinely transformative. I saw how their approach using outdoor adventure to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork can unlock potential in ways that traditional settings often can't.
Their work is about more than just adventure. It’s about helping young people believe in themselves, especially those who face barriers to opportunity. That belief is something I carry with me every day, and it’s why I’m so passionate about fundraising for them.
Running this marathon is my way of giving back to help more young people access life-changing experiences, just like the one I had. Together, we can help them discover that they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.
Why It Matters 🌟
The Outward Bound Trust helps young people discover that they’re stronger than they think. Through outdoor adventure and challenge, they build confidence, resilience, and self-belief skills that last a lifetime.
What makes this charity truly special is its commitment to accessibility. Over 80% of participants receive funding, ensuring that income isn’t a barrier to opportunity. It’s education beyond the classroom, focused on growth, compassion, and real-world impact
By supporting Outward Bound, we’re helping young people thrive no matter their background.
