Marie Curie

Married duo running the London Marathon for Marie Curie — one’s faster, one’s funnier…🤣

My Story

Right then — we’ve gone and done it. We’ve signed up to run the London Marathon together next year, which sounded like a lovely idea at the time… until we realised it involves actual running.

We’re taking on 26.2 miles to raise money for the amazing Marie Curie, who provide incredible end-of-life care and support for families when they need it most. Their nurses are absolute heroes, and we’re chuffed to be running in their name — even if our knees might not agree.

💛 Why Marie Curie.....

We’ve both seen how much of a difference Marie Curie makes to people’s lives — the care, the compassion, the cuppas, and the comfort. They do wonderful work, and we want to do our bit to help keep it going. (Even if that “bit” happens to involve blisters and public sweating.)

🏃‍♀️ The Training (or How to Test a Marriage)...

They say couples who run together stay together - but let’s be honest, couples who run together probably end up in divorce. Still, that’s a cause worth donating for, isn’t it? 😂

Edward’s the faster runner (and annoyingly smug about it), so it’s highly likely he’ll be sipping his post-race pint while I’m still somewhere around mile 18 wondering where it all went wrong. But hey, at least one of us will look good in the finish line photos!

Training together has been… character-building, let’s say. We’ve perfected the art of “motivational bickering” and learnt that running in silence can sometimes save a marriage. Thank god for headphones.

💸 How You Can Help...

Please throw some money our way to support Marie Curie — every donation, big or small, really does make a difference. It helps fund their nurses, hospices, and support for families going through unimaginably tough times.

And if nothing else, your generosity might just help keep our marriage intact until April.

❤️ Thank You....

Massive thanks for cheering us on, donating, or just having a giggle at our expense. We’ll do the running, sweating and arguing — you lot just get to feel brilliant knowing you’ve helped an incredible cause.

Here’s to crossing the finish line… and still speaking to each other afterwards! 💛
