My Story
In January 2025, my life changed in a way I never expected. I was diagnosed with sarcoma – a rare type of cancer that most people have never even heard of until it touches their lives. Since that day, I’ve been on a journey that has challenged me physically and emotionally more than anything else I’ve ever faced.
Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine. This year, that dream feels even more powerful. Every mile I run will represent the progress I’ve made, the hurdles I’ve overcome, and the belief that even in the toughest circumstances, there’s always a way forward.
I feel so fortunate to have the most incredible friends and family by my side – I honestly don’t know how I would have managed without them. Their love, encouragement, and belief in me have made all the difference. My amazing friend Ellie deserves a special mention: she has supported me both professionally and personally in ways I’ll never be able to repay……apart from convincing her to lace up again for London when Lisbon Marathon last year was her ‘one and done marathon.’ And what could be more fitting than to raise money together for a now very personal cause – Sarcoma UK.
Sarcomas are rare – they make up just 1% of all adult cancers – which is why research, awareness, and support are so vital. Too often, sarcoma is misunderstood or diagnosed late, and charities like Sarcoma UK are working hard to change that. They fund vital research, raise awareness, and provide support to people and families facing this disease.
This marathon isn’t just about crossing the finish line for me. It’s about turning a personal challenge into something positive and powerful. It’s about shining a light on sarcoma, raising awareness, and helping to fund research that could change outcomes for people in the future.
If you are able to support me, no matter the amount, you’ll be helping Sarcoma UK continue their incredible work. Every donation will make a difference — and I’ll carry your support with me every step of the 26.2 miles.
Thank you so much for reading my story and for being part of this journey with me. Together, we can make a difference.
