My Story

In April I will be running the TCS London Marathon 2026 and I am chuffed that I get to raise money for the National Deaf Children’s Society. The NDCS is incredibly close to my heart for many reasons and by donating you will be helping their mission of creating a world without barriers for Deaf children and young people in the UK.

Through volunteering, working in education and my studies, I have seen first-hand the support and resources that the NDCS offer including the amazing efforts of my colleagues and young people that I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

The NDCS support families with advice, groups, 1 to 1 support, training and technology. They have countless resources which assist those working in education such as myself. They campaign and advocate for Deaf children’s rights and the improvement of services from the government and other bodies. Most of all they create a community of children, families, professionals and supporters to make a difference.

£100 could fund one-to-one support for 3 families, helping them to secure the support they need to thrive.

£50 could provide an online session empowering parents to make sure their deaf child gets the right support at school.

£26.20, £1 a mile, could answer 5 calls to our Helpline from parents who have just found out their child is deaf, reassuring them they’re not alone.
