My Story

On the 26th April 2026 (My 40th Birthday!) I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Helen & Douglas House. As a family, we have used Helen & Douglas House for much needed respite stays at their "home away from home" due to my daughter's complex medical needs. Everyone there is so caring and friendly and always go the extra mile to make our stays memorable for our daughter and relaxing for us.  I hope to raise vital funds to support other families and children as we have seen firsthand the amazing work they do.

Ever since I was little, I was fascinated by the London Marathon and would always watch it on TV and seeing the crazy people in costumes. Since then, it has always been on my bucket list to do London. My late Uncle Rob was a keen marathon runner and did London numerous times.

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
