2026 TCS London Marathon Registrations - Charity Place
Chris White
My Story
In 2026, GingerWhite turns 20 — and instead of just cake and candles, I thought I’d mark the occasion with something a little more energetic: my first marathon, running in support of Samaritans in the London Marathon in April 26.
London has been home for 15 years and it’s a city that means a lot to my family. GingerWhite started life in London and most of our office clients are London-based. Both my daughters were born at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and my amazing wife used to work in A&E there. So running my first marathon in the heart of the city that’s given us so much makes it incredibly special - and it’ll be great not to be stuck in London traffic in a van delivering artwork for a change!
Samaritans’ work is vital in helping anyone struggling to cope, and I’m proud to have been granted a charity place and to run every mile knowing it supports such an important cause.
My running journey hasn’t exactly been straightforward. I’ve done “Couch to 5K”… then “Back to Couch”…quite a few times. Then up to 10K. And in 2025 I managed my first half marathon, which gave me just enough misplaced confidence to think: Why not the full marathon?
I’ve bought the trainers and downloaded the app. Now it’s time to get moving. This challenge is about celebrating 20 years of GingerWhite, supporting the life-changing work Samaritans do, and showing my kids that with hard work anything is possible!
Any donation you can spare for Samaritans is really appreciated and will help keep me moving through the long winter training runs. Thank you so much for your support!
