My Story

Why I'm running for Street Child!

I cannot wait for this next adventure / challenge. I've been developing myself as a runner over the last year, joining the Barnes Runners running club as well as taking part in many half marathons both at home & abroad. I will continue to run half marathon's around the world this year.

To kick start 2026 I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to run my 1st ever marathon! Better still it's in my hometown London and to top it off I get to run for a fantastic cause!

This is where I need your help...

I’m taking on this incredible challenge of running the London Marathon (26.2 miles) to raise awareness for Street Child who work to ensure every child has the chance to go to school and build a brighter future for themselves.

Street Child is an international children's education charity active in more than 20 of the world's most low income and disaster struck countries, with a purpose to breakdown all the barriers that prevent a child from being safe, in school and learning.

What truly sets Street Child apart is their commitment to working with local-level, in-country organisations to deliver sustainable, community led solutions. From supporting on building or refurbishing schools, to training teachers and supporting caregivers to develop small businesses that fund their children's education.

One of the things that most inspired me to support Street Child is their focus on education in Emergencies. This includes children currently living on or near the front line in Ukraine where Street Child with their corporate partner Infosys established digital learning centres providing access to educational and mental health support. This schooling builds stability, helps children regain a sense of normalcy and community. Think back to how online work and school kept us all as sane as possible in difficult circumstances during the pandemic.

So for this cause and to help the children I will run 26.2 miles around our beautiful capital city, my ask of you is please dig deep to donate and I promise to have an absolute blast all the way round! If you are able to come out and support on the day I would love that too!

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
