My Story

This year I’m really excited to be running the London Marathon in memory of Tom and to raise money for the Tom Love Trust. TLT is a subsidiary group administered by the registered charity The Angus Lawson Memorial Trust, which, with 128 charity partners, supports a wide range of projects to help children and young adults worldwide.   I’ve been lucky enough to have known Tom and his family since I was little, and it means so much to me to run in honour of such a kind and brilliant person.

Although Tom was taken from us far too early, he continues to make the world a better place through the work of the Tom Love Trust. With a particular focus on projects across the UK and South Africa, all funds raised go directly to the trust, supporting a number of causes to improve access to education and healthcare in Africa, as well as to develop young people’s horizons here in the UK.

One charity supported by the trust that means a lot to me personally is The Theatre Shed. It  is an inclusive theatre group that I’ve been volunteering with since 2018, and it has had a huge impact on the values I hold and the person I am today. With its motto “Our door is always open,” it creates a truly supportive community where everyone is welcomed and encouraged to thrive while supporting others. It brings together people both with and without disabilities, helping everyone learn from one another, grow in confidence, and make the world around them a more inclusive place.

Any support, no matter how small, would mean so much and will go directly towards continuing the incredible work supported by the Tom Love Trust.
