My Story
On 26 April 2026, I will be taking on the London Marathon for the very first time — a huge personal challenge, something that I have always wanted to do and I am terrifyingly excited to be doing!
After a lot of consideration, I have chosen to run in support of Pets As Therapy, a charity that is deeply close to my heart. I have been volunteering with the charity alongside our wonderful dog, Roxy, since 2025. I have seen first-hand the comfort, joy, and reassurance that therapy animals can bring to people in a hospital.
Pets As Therapy is an incredible charity and with the help of their volunteers (both human & the furry kind), they help to improve health and wellbeing through the special bond between people and animals. Every visit made truly makes a difference, and your support will help ensure that these visits can continue reaching those who need them most. The charity has a variety of establishments that are registered with them - hospitals, schools, care homes, businesses, libraries and other community settings - anywhere that might need some of life’s daily stresses eased away by a visit from a furry friend.
Roxy and I visit The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow weekly, and we see how much happiness and positivity she brings to everyone that wants to meet her. Our visits can genuinely turn someone’s day around and completely change their mindset. Whether it’s the patients, their families or the amazing staff - often people in terrible situations, at their lowest, and with a little bit of Roxy affection their mood can be lifted greatly.
Training for a marathon is no small task, but knowing I’m running for such a meaningful cause — with Roxy cheering me on in spirit 😉 — makes every mile worthwhile.
Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated.
I cannot thank you enough for your support 💙🩷
