My Story

This April, I’m taking on another ultimate challenge for the second time, running the London Marathon completely barefoot. Yes, you read that right—no shoes, just my bare feet against the pavement for 26.2 miles.

Why? Because I want to go the extra mile (literally and metaphorically) to shine a spotlight on a cause that’s deeply important to me: AMURT UK's London Feeding Programme.

Running barefoot is my way of connecting with the struggles faced by London’s homeless and vulnerable communities every day. It’s a small discomfort compared to the challenges they endure, and it’s my symbolic effort to show solidarity while raising funds to support their needs.

What do we do?

It's my great privilege to be one of the chefs for the London Feeding Programme. Our dedicated team of volunteers transform surplus ingredients into hundreds of nutritious vegetarian meals, ensuring that no food goes to waste. These meals, along with homemade nutrition bars, other healthy snacks, fruit, immunity shots and hot drinks, are distributed across various locations in the city to support community members in need.

For our homeless service users, we offer warm durable clothing, thermal wear, sleeping bags, blankets and personal hygiene essentials to help them navigate their daily struggles with dignity. In partnership with other organisations, we work tirelessly to provide tailored support in (often harrowing) emergency situations—helping individuals secure accommodation, access legal services and find ways to reduce their energy bills.

What do we need?

We fundraise year-round to make all of this happen. Demand for our services continues to increase. But we can only match this uptick in demand with your support. And that's why I'm taking on a massive challenge - to run the London Marathon for the second time on April 26th 2026, to raise funds for this vital cause.

My goal is to raise £10,000. Every penny of your contribution will help the London Feeding Programme expand our reach and impact more Londoners' lives than ever before. Thank you so much for your support!
