My Story
About us
In 2026, I’ll be running the marathon for Bowel Cancer UK, a cause that has become incredibly personal to me.
In May 2023, my mum was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, just as she and my dad were about to start a new chapter together. Only a short time before, my dad had suffered a stroke, and despite facing her own diagnosis, my mum never stopped being his carer. Since then, she has endured bowel surgery, liver surgery, and two rounds of chemotherapy — and she is still bravely fighting her journey today.
She is the definition of strength. Despite a life-altering diagnosis, she has battled through every setback, complication, and heartbreaking moment with unwavering determination, resilience, and a smile that refuses to fade.
Her strength, resilience, and selflessness are nothing short of inspiring. Running this marathon is my way of honouring her battle with cancer, raising awareness, and helping fund vital research so that more families can have hope in the face of bowel cancer. Every step I take will be for my mum — my hero — and for everyone else affected by this disease.
