My Story
Running 26.2 miles to help people rebuild their lives
I am running the London Marathon to support SIG Penrose Roots, an award-winning community garden and recovery service transforming lives across Luton and Bedfordshire.
Roots supports over 600 people annually through therapeutic growing spaces, skills workshops, and peer support groups, providing a lifeline for people experiencing social isolation, mental health challenges, substance use, or involvement with the criminal justice system.
For many members, Roots is their only opportunity to socialise, learn new skills, and build meaningful friendships. I have seen firsthand how this incredible service helps people develop confidence, find purpose, and create lasting change.
Every pound raised helps Roots continue providing this vital support. Your donation could fund:
- £10: Seeds and materials for therapeutic gardening activities
- £25: A workshop teaching practical life skills
- £50: A week of support for someone rebuilding their life
Just as every mile of training prepares me for the marathon, every donation helps someone take another step forward on their recovery journey.
Please sponsor me and help Roots continue growing hope, community, and brighter futures.
Thank you for your support!
