British Heart Foundation

In February this year, I was told I’d never run again. In April, I’m running the London Marathon

My Story

Earlier this year, my life changed overnight. I was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and needed emergency surgery to save my leg — and possibly my life. Lying in a hospital bed, I was told I might lose my toes, maybe even my whole leg… and that running was off the cards for good.

That was a tough thing to hear. Running had always been a big part of who I was — not just for fitness, but for my mental health, my focus, and my sense of freedom.

But I was one of the lucky ones. I kept my leg. I kept my toes. And somehow, I’ve been given a second chance.

Now, I want to use that chance to do something that matters. I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation — a charity that helps people living with heart and circulatory conditions, and funds the research that saves lives like mine.

This cause is personal. I know how scary and isolating these conditions can feel. I want to help make sure others get the support, treatment, and hope that I was so fortunate to receive.

If you’re able to support me, every donation — no matter the amount — will help someone else get a second chance too.

Thank you so much for reading and supporting my journey. Let’s make it count.
