My Story

I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my close friend Isobel, who we sadly lost last April to cancer.

Isobel was brave, kind, and full of life. In May 2023 she was diagnosed with sarcoma which is a rare form of cancer, and from that moment on she faced everything with a strength and courage that inspired everyone around her.

Iz fought her battle relentlessly, but on the 2nd April 2025 we unfortunately lost her, leaving a hole in our hearts and a void in our lives.

I’m running this marathon to honour her strength and determination. I’ll be carrying her with me every mile and when it gets tough I’ll remind myself of the bravery she showed every single day.

I’m raising money to support life-saving research so that one day no one has to lose someone they love to cancer. Every step I take is for Iz.

Thank you for supporting me and honouring Isobel’s memory❤️

About us

The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
