My Story

I’m humbled to be running the 2026 TCS London Marathon, raising funds for the Royal British Legion. Remembrance should be more than a moment of silence - it should be a call to action. Every step I take will honour those who served and support those still fighting battles we don’t see. This is my way of showing that gratitude is best expressed through action - not just words.

Anybody that knows me, will realise that this is no mean feat for me. Up until a couple of years ago I was tipping the scale at 22 stone and needed to do something for both my physical and mental health. Through a series of challenges and goals I have dropped over 5 stone and following my latest challenge, the AJ Bell Manchester 10k after only ever having previously completed a 5K, I decided to jump in the deep end by applying for the 2026 TCS London Marathon through the RBL.

Their Poppy Appeal was founded to help those in need as they work tirelessly to ensure that those who have served are being looked after no matter what challenges they and the country faces. Right now they are helping those in our Armed Forces community who are isolated from family, facing homelessness, struggling to feed their children and are in financial crisis. I have committed to raising £2,500 for this cause so appreciate any donation big or small 🙏🏻 as it means the RBL can continue to provide this life-changing support.

Having personally known vets who have struggled and having the upmost respect and admiration for their service and sacrifice I hold this cause in the highest of regards - and any pain I suffer in training or on the day pales into insignificance when measured against that which has been felt by those who have served.

Thankyou to all servicemen and women for your service and sacrifice - including those who gave the ultimate price so others may live in freedom 🇬🇧
