My Story

About us

I’m running for the BDD Foundation because their work quite literally changed — and saved — my life.

As a teenager, I lived with severe Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). At its worst, BDD consumed every part of my life: I became housebound, had to leave my education, and came frighteningly close to losing my life altogether.

Thanks to the BDD Foundation and the incredible clinicians at the Maudsley Hospital, I was able to access the specialist treatment that led to my recovery. With the right support, everything changed — I went on to pursue a PhD, build a meaningful career, and even stand as a Parliamentary candidate.

Now, I’m channelling that same resilience into my marathon training, following the excellent plan set out by the London Marathon team. Every mile I run is for those still struggling — to show that recovery is possible, and to help ensure that others can access the same life-saving support I did.

Your donation will help the BDD Foundation continue their vital work — raising awareness, funding research, and offering hope to those affected by this devastating condition.

Thank you for supporting me and the BDD Foundation 💙
