My Story

Somehow, luck afforded me a place via the ballot meaning I wasn't fixed to donating for an affiliated (large) charity so when the opportunity came up to choose a charity to run for, I wanted something that aligns with me, my childhood, my interests but most importantly will make a difference.

My sister sent me a link to Live Like Ralph and I instantly knew it was meant to be. A local charity based in the town I grew up in, supporting young people in the arts, music and skating was closer to home that the literal sense of the meaning.

When I was a kid, I loved skating but there were little to no facilities in the area making it hard to enjoy it safely; Live Like Ralph now push that initiative and build skate parks!  Music is my life and LLR help young, aspiring musicians by giving them the platform and means to get started in the industry.

These two main strands of what Live Like Ralph do are making a huge impact on the local community of Lytham, Blackpool & The Fylde and I'm delighted that I can run for such a great charity, one that I wish existed when I was growing up there.

Now more than ever, it's important to keep kids engaged in social activity, sport and music away from screens, giving them the freedom to be creative. Neil and his amazing team at LLR are giving hope to young people that have dreams, investing in the future and the facilities to learn new skills. I hope we can raise enough money to support them on their mission, raise awareness for the work they do and in memory of his incredibly talented son, Ralph.
