My Story

Back in 2001 I lost my Nannan, Megan Waters to Pancreatic Cancer. 

She was just 68

Having suffered in pain for months, she was finally diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer and within a few short months, she had passed. 

It was my first family bereavement and completely new but the hurt it caused was huge.

Seeing the pain my Mum went through especially, was particularly heartbreaking.

Parents are superhero's and here was my Mum broken and devastated thanks to this horrific disease. 

The brutal reality is that diagnosis comes far too late for most people

Half of people diagnosed die within 3 months.

Thats 12 weeks! 

Families are left with only hope to cling on to and that is not enough. 

The disease MUST be detected sooner, and it can be! 

Thanks to the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK's dedicated team of researchers, a simple test to detect the cancer sooner is within reach

It just needs more funding. 

So I am incredibly proud to announce that I will be doing my part by entering the 2026 London Marathon as a representative of the Pancreatic Cancer UK charity team.

I want to raise £5000 and I need your help! 

This is going to be the biggest test of both mental and physcial toughness that I will have endured in all my years of fundraising

I'm talking 5km of burpees, 10 days of 10k's, swimming the channel distance and running 4km every 4hrs for 2 days.

Anything you can spare would be amazing and greatly appreciated especially for a charity so close to me personally. 

Please give what you can as I try to help others stand a better chanc eof survival against this deadly disease by detecting it sooner. 

I will also be taking on a 24hr relay run with my GLWD members in October to help boost funds ahead of next Aprils big day so stay tuned for more info on this.
