My Story

Since picking up running as a hobby (and watching it somewhat spiral into a mild obsession), I've always wanted to have a go at running a marathon. Admittedly having run two half-marathons makes the full distance seem a bit terrifying, but I couldn't be more excited to be running in the TCS 2026 London Marathon in support of Marie Curie, and in memory of my Grandma.

To make the day even more of an entertaining challenge, I'll be running in a bedazzled seagull costume (originally made for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour - iykyk). Hopefully this will give me the perfect cover to steal some food from spectators.

My Grandma was always one of the most important people during my childhood. Growing up in France for the first 8 years of my life meant that trips back to England to visit family were all the more special, especially when we got to see Grandma, sit in her garden, and drink her famous top secret Blackberry Special (a magical cordial that somehow seemed to cure every sore throat whilst being delicious). Moving to England at 8 meant that we got to spend more time together, but sadly the next few years saw her diagnosed with cancer, and ultimately passing away.

Pauline's last months were spent with wonderful aid from Marie Curie, which seemed very fitting as daffodils had been her favourite flower. Every spring feels more comforting when the daffodils start to emerge and it almost feels like Grandma is somehow there as well.

My fundraising target is £2500 and any donation is incredibly appreciated.

See you at the finish line!
