My Story

I'm running the 2026 London Marathon for the RCN Foundation – and I need your support!

Hello, I'm Ella, a staff nurse, and I’m running the 2026 London Marathon in April in support of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Foundation.

I’m aiming to raise £2,500 for the RCN Foundation – a charity that supports nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers when they need it most. Whether it’s helping someone through financial hardship, escaping domestic violence, or funding education and research, the Foundation is there to make a real difference.

As a nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how demanding and emotionally challenging this work can be. Since I started running in 2020, it’s become a way to decompress after tough shifts and support my mental wellbeing. Running for the RCN Foundation feels like a powerful way to give back – to stand up for my colleagues and the wider healthcare community.

Just £250 can provide essential support to a nurse in crisis – putting food on the table, offering safety, or helping them through a difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will help me reach my goal and support those who care for us all. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you ever so much for your support – here’s to many miles, strong legs, and (hopefully) no injuries!
