My Story
Benny and Emily’s marathon journey
In April 2026, we will stand side by side at the start line of the London Marathon. We are not running for personal achievement, but in memory of two cherished lives and in support of a cause that now means the world to us.
Here's our story
Benny
I experienced the completely devastating loss of the one of a kind, my darling wife Charlotte who died suddenly but peacefully in her sleep on 11th September last year. She joins our son Arthur who we lost during birth on 29th August. Both will be watching over me and our 3-year-old daughter Elsa Joy Jelley. Anyone who knew Charlotte, experienced her passion for life and commitment to her family.
I want to raise money for Tommy's, which is a charity that now holds a special place in my heart to ensure important research is carried out to help stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone.
Emily
I will be running the London Marathon to keep the memory of our dearest Charlotte alive. The family was beyond devasted when we lost her in September 2024, she left behind little Elsa and husband Benny, who will be joining me every step of the 26.2 miles next April.
This race is part of our collective effort to create some positivity following such a heartbreaking chapter of our lives. Benny and I won’t just be celebrating Charlotte’s remarkable life, we will be shining a light of the importance of maternal healthcare and also raising money for Tommy’s, the baby and pregnancy charity.
Thank you in advance for any support you are able to contribute. Every penny matters. Fly high our beautiful Charlotte.
