My Story

Hello! I’m Emily Hayes, and in April 2026 I’ll be running the London Marathon to raise money for St Margaret’s Hospice, a charity incredibly close to my heart.

St Margaret’s has been part of my life for many years. My mum has worked as a specialist nurse there for over a decade, and my brother is now in the Fundraising and Photography team. We’ve also had family members cared for by the hospice, so I’ve seen the love, dignity, and strength they offer during the hardest moments. Running for them feels like my way of giving something back.

Training for this marathon is also deeply personal. Running has become a lifeline for me in managing anxiety and depression. It’s not just exercise, it’s therapy, headspace, and a reminder that I’m capable of more than I think on the days that feel heavy. Taking on this challenge is a symbol of how far I’ve come, and of the power we all have to keep going.

I’m hoping to raise £2,500 to help St Margaret’s continue their incredible work. However big or small, any donation truly means the world to me and to the patients and families this hospice supports.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of this journey with me.💗
