My Story
So, its official...I am running the London Marathon 2026!!!
I don't know if I should laugh, cry or vomit at the thought of running 26.2 miles (42.2kms), something that I never, in a million years thought I would ever be attempting- but here I go!
Since I started running last year I've clocked up a fair few miles and have a couple of half marathons under my belt, but I can't imagine how gruelling the training will be for this mammoth challenge... RIP toenails.
I am lucky enough to have been offered a place to run in one of the world majors and I'm honoured to be doing it to raise money for the charity SHELTER.
I am proud to be a council estate girl, who grew up in the social housing system and so I know only too well how important a charity like SHELTER is and how important the work they do is for families just like mine.
The housing crisis is a national emergency and right now, millions of people are just trying to get by and make ends meet.. many doing this without a safe place to call home.
I know how lucky I am to be able to tuck my girls into their beds at night, safe and sound. So many do not have that privilege. Statistics show that full time workers who live in rented accommodation are potentially just 1 pay fay away from homelessness!
The London Marathon is a huge challenge but so is the fight against the housing emergency. A home means everything to me so I'm joining the fight for home by fundraising for SHELTER.
So here I am again, asking for money and support to raise much needed funds and to spread awareness for a much needed charity 🏡
Thank you all so much in advance for any donations, shares and advice on nipple chafe ✌🏻
