My Story
In 2015, my mother became ill, but continued carrying out her motherly duties until the point where she could not properly function. She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with an 11-inch, stage 4 cancer tumour of the womb. This subsequently spread to her liver, lungs and brain within a matter of weeks.
After numerous cycles of heavy doses of chemo, it became apparent that this aggressive manner of treatment would kill her. She was enrolled on a trial phase of immunotherapy, a treatment with limited prior exposure and uncertain long-term effects. Nevertheless, thanks to the research team, her positive mindset, and determined strength, she was given the all clear on the 24th of September 2016, permitting her to be a mum once more!
Recently, I began running and thought there was no better way of giving back to the people who saved my mother's life then by raising money for CTRT (Cancer Treatment Research Trust). In light of all the things mothers do for us, I have decided to embark on a '26' themed fundraising campaign. In 2026, I will be running 26 miles through the fabled streets of London, and my mother and I will be doing 26 adventures, see below to see what we have done so far!
We encourage anyone and everyone to join us on our adventures and aid CTRT as they endeavour to save lives. Any support would be appreciated in contributing to this exceptional cause that is close to my family's hearts.
