My Story

I’m fundraising for the Medical Women’s Federation because, as a Year 4 medical student, I’m already seeing how challenging and demanding a career in medicine can be, especially for women.

Throughout my training, I’ve witnessed the importance of having strong role models, supportive mentors, and safe spaces where women in medicine can share experiences, seek guidance, and feel heard. As a woman from an Indian background, representation and community have always mattered deeply to me, and MWF’s work in advocating for equality, wellbeing, and support for women in medicine truly resonates with my own journey.

MWF plays a vital role in supporting women at every stage of their medical careers, from students to senior clinicians, by championing fair opportunities, promoting wellbeing, and creating networks that help women thrive rather than simply survive in the profession. At a time when burnout and pressure in healthcare are so prevalent, this support is more important than ever.

Running the London Marathon for MWF is my way of giving back to a community that uplifts and empowers women in medicine. Every donation helps MWF continue its vital work, and gives me the motivation to keep going through the long, sweaty training runs along the way.

Thank you so much for supporting both me and this incredible cause.
