My Story

I'm running the London Marathon in support of Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice – a truly remarkable charity that provides specialist care, comfort, and support for babies and young children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, as well as their families during the most challenging times.

Through my work with Coombe Abbey Hotel and as a proud member of the Zoë’s Place Business Club, I’ve had the privilege of supporting Zoë’s Place in various ways over the years – from fundraising events to awareness campaigns. But this year, I felt compelled to do something more personal. Something that would push my own limits in honor of the strength and resilience shown by the children and families Zoë’s Place supports every single day.

Running 26.2 miles is no small feat, but every step I take is for a cause that truly matters. It’s for the babies who need round-the-clock care, for the parents who need a moment of rest and reassurance, and for the dedicated staff and volunteers who make Zoë’s Place a sanctuary of love and compassion.

This marathon is more than just a physical challenge – it’s a way to give back in a meaningful way, to raise vital funds, and to shine a light on the incredible work this hospice does. I’m proud to be running not just with my legs, but with my heart – for Zoë’s Place.

I’m also running in memory of my son-in-law, Tom. While Tom didn’t need the services of Zoë’s Place, we tragically lost Tom last year when he was brutally murdered, and navigating the last year has been such a challenge, not only for me, but for our entire families. I wanted to do something that would help benefit so many people and give me something positive to focus on. Tom was our gentle giant  I know he would have been so proud of my effort and he would be cheering me on, every step of the way. So I will be running in a Pink top in memory of our Tom!

Please donate generously to help me reach my fundraising goal. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference – and together, we can bring comfort, care, and hope to families who need it most.

Thank you for your support!
