My Story

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a charity incredibly close to my heart. I honestly couldn't think of a more meaningful cause to push myself to the absolute limit for.

To those who know me, you may or may not be aware, I am not a runner. In fact, I’ve never run in my life. But this cause is worth every step, no matter how hard it gets.

When my sister Fran was just eight years old, she was diagnosed with an inoperable polycystic astrocytoma. It was the darkest, most terrifying time of our lives. But in that darkness, Shooting Star was there. They didn’t just care for Fran, they supported our entire family, helping us navigate the unthinkable with compassion, strength, and dignity.

Somehow, against all odds, my incredible sister made it through. Today, she’s a mother herself, and we are so grateful to have her here, healthy and thriving, with a beautiful daughter of her own. We never take that for granted.

Running this marathon is my way of giving back to the charity that helped hold us together when everything was falling apart. Thanks to Shooting Star, we found hope and light when we needed it most. Now, I want to help ensure other families can receive the same love and support when they need it, too.
