My Story

On Sunday 26th April 2026 I’m running my 4th London Marathon. This will bring my marathon tally to 5 after running four in London and one in  Dublin 🇮🇪 in 2024.

This one is extra special as I turn 40 in the same week so is there a better way to celebrate my birthday than running 26.2 miles around the streets of London? 😀💪

It’s also extra special as I will be running for the Evelina Children’s Hospital. My nephew Raffy was admitted to their care last year when he was just over a year old, suffering with sepsis and a serious bone infection after being transferred from the PRUH locally.

He required emergency overnight surgery and ongoing care from their team of exceptional doctors and nurses. Raffy is still being looked after by their specialist team but is making amazing steps in his road to recovery.

The team were wonderful in their care of Raffy- including special Christmas treats, individual play specialists and suitable safe areas for the children to enjoy. They do a fantastic job of making the hardest of times as comfortable as possible.

I’m looking to raise £2500, with your help for this amazing charity. Fran’s employer has agreed a generous donation match which will help boost what I will raise.

Here is how your donation will help?

• Make Evelina London feel more like home, with wards that provide a sanctuary for families and a play space for children.

• Invest in innovative equipment and technology that makes treatment more precise and brings comfort to children and their families – like special illuminating equipment that makes injections easier.

• Support pioneering research which allows the expert Evelina London team to discover new ways to deliver care – like the ground-breaking 3D MRI scanner that helps diagnose heart problems in babies while they’re still in the womb.

• Look after the everyday heroes in the Evelina London team, making sure they get the care and support they need – from comfy seats for tired feet in our ‘wellbeing zones’ to trailblazing training.
