My Story

I am running the 2026 London Marathon in aid of St Helena Hospice.

When I was 7 my beautiful Nan was diagnosed with lung cancer and received end of life care in St Helena hospice. As a 7 year old, I had no idea what this meant, but I do remember spending time with the staff, painting pottery whilst my Mum got to spend time with her Mum. When talking to my Mum she always saying about wonderful the hospice was, how great the staff are and how the hospice cat scared her one night when it jumped on my Nans bed!
Since then, a close family friend and friend of my brothers have received end of life care at the hospice and again, given nothing but amazing feedback in their hardest times of their lives.
Im a nurse of 11 years and whilst I've never worked in a hospice, palliative care is a passion of mine and I will always advocate for my patients who wanted to spend their time in the hospice as it can really make such an awful time just that little bit better.
I've been running now for 2 years and a bucket list goal of mine is to run a marathon. I've ran half marathons and even running the St Helena hospice half marathon in September 2025! I love challenging myself and then being able to give back to an amazing cause is a huge goal and I can't wait to help support the hospice!
