My Story

My story 

On 26 April 2026 I am taking part in the London Marathon and I will be raising money for Dementia Uk.

This charity is very close to my heart as my dad suffered from vascular dementia for many years and sadly passed away in April 2020. Seeing him deteriorate from the proud man he was, was heartbreaking, and my mum now, following numerous strokes has also been living with vascular dementia since 2022. 

In 2026 the London marathon takes place on 26 April, six years to the day since my dad’s passing. In his early years my dad was a champion international race walker. I have fond memories of us sitting as a family watching the London marathon on TV.  My dad would have loved that I have decided to take on this challenge and I’m determined complete it in his memory xx
