My Story

From me:
I am running the 2026 London marathon for the National Deaf Children Society.
My son, George, was diagnosed at 3 weeks old with sensorineural hearing loss - after failing his newborn hearing screening twice.

It is through the NDCS that we can access help and support with George - such as BSL classes for the family.
If it wasn’t for such a brilliant charity, there would be less support and less information that is vital to helping children with all levels of hearing loss to succeed and access support that is needed.

Donating, even a small amount, is playing such a huge role in helping these babies and children to thrive.
I am not a runner by any means, and this is going to push me to my limits, especially being a full time working dad of 3 (driving 2 around 5 times per week to their sports) but I believe it is going to be worth it in abundance, to help support the charity that have helped and supported George and my family so far in his hearing loss journey.

From the NDCS:
For a child, every day should be an adventure with a chance to meet new friends and explore the world. But, deaf children are missing out.

Deaf children are losing out on vital support as their audiology and education needs are not being met.

With your support, the National Deaf Children's Society can be there for every deaf child. Together, let's make sure nothing holds deaf children back.

Ninety-five percent of what NDCS does is funded by the public. Their work is only possible thanks to donations from people like you.

£20 could help a family that's just found out their baby is deaf get free, confidential support from the NDCS Helpline.

£50 could go towards NDCS online workshops to help families learn more about deafness and meet other parents.

£100 could contribute towards a sign language course to help parents and families.
