My Story

In memory of Phil Jones (Shamby) I’ve decided to dedicate my next three major endurance events to raising money for Kidney Wales.

Over the next year, I’ll be taking on three huge challenges:

Ironman Wales – 21st September 2025

Marathon Eryri (Snowdonia) – 25th October 2025

London Marathon – 26th April 2026

By supporting Kidney Wales, I hope to raise vital funds that will make a difference to people and families affected by kidney disease.

Any donation, no matter the size, will mean so much. Together, we can help continue the charitable legacy Phil left behind and support those who need it most.

Since 1967, Kidney Wales has been making a real difference in the lives of kidney patients and their families. As one of the longest-standing charities in this field in Wales, our mission is simple but powerful: to improve the lives of those affected by kidney disease.

Kidney disease affects over 93,000 people in Wales. There is no cure—only forms of treatment, which often include dialysis and/or transplantation. For many, these treatments are life-saving, but they are also life-changing.

Kidney Wales doesn’t receive any government funding. We rely entirely on the generosity of individuals like you to continue our work. Your contributions directly fund the essential services we provide to kidney patients and their families.

Here’s a glimpse of the support we provide:

  • Patient Support – Our dedicated Patient Information and Support Manager offers vital information and advice.
  • Financial Assistance – We provide emergency grants, including food vouchers, emergency aid, and carers' wellbeing vouchers.
  • Awareness & Education – We work to educate the public and members of the kidney community, and raise awareness of kidney disease.
  • Well-being Support – We collaborate with partners to provide care for both the physical and mental well-being of patients.
  • Research Funding – We support research that benefits Welsh kidney patients.

Your support is invaluable. Every penny donated is a lifeline for patients and families living with kidney disease in Wales.

Thank you / Diolch!
